A short break in Majorca could be based around the capital, Palma, with its soaring Gothic cathedral, vibrant squares and dozens of galleries. It’s a food lovers’ dream with colourful markets, tonnes of bars and restaurants to choose from, and dozens of local wineries to visit in the countryside nearby. In the north, the soaring peaks of Serra de Tramuntana keep cyclists and hikers happy for days, but if you’re just there for the view then stick to the coastal road.
