Rhodes Trivia

October: One of the landmarks of Rhodes is the Three Mills, at Mandraki Harbour. During the Ottoman years, Rhodes was the main supplier of flour to southern Anatolia and it had dozens of mills. More than 30 survive today in the northern part of the island.
-
September: The magnificent marble statue of Laocoön and his sons in the Palace of the Knights is a copy of the Rhodian original that is now held by the Vatican Museum.
-
August: Rhodes has hosted all three major monotheistic religions of the world. The Jewish community dates back to the second century BC; the Christian apostle Paul taught on the island; and for 400 years Rhodes was under control of the Ottoman Empire.
