Montpellier Trivia

  • May: Tambourin is not a musical instrument, it's a sport in which a ball has to be hit with a circular disc - not unlike a tambourine!

  • April: The Antigone district in Montpellier, designed by Ricardo Bofill, is the largest single development project ever built in France.

  • March: The central square in Montpellier - La Place de la Comedie - is often called l'oeuf ("the egg") because of the shape of the original pedestrian area.
