This Month in Lamezia (August):
By Cherrye Moore/my-bellavita.comShopping: If you are near Spilinga, stop by Artigiano della 'Nduja and try some authentic 'nduja, the spicy spreadable sausage that is famous in Calabria (15 Via Aldo Moro, tel: 096 365 047, artigianodellanduja.com).
Sightseeing: Take a break from the beaches and head to the Red Onion Festival in the Piazza Marconi, Ricadi, on 13 August. It may sound a little one dimensional, but down here they take their red onions very seriously and there are lots of different types to try.
