Sightseeing: An exhibition at the Maritime Museum in St Helier (tel: 01534 633 300) tells the story of T.B. Davis, who, at 13, was a fisherman, but who became a multimillionaire and Jersey's greatest philanthropist.

Key areas: Sark, which is an hour's boat journey from St Helier, looks stunning at this time of the year and interesting at any time. There are no cars, but 600 people still lead comfortable lives on the tiny island.
