Ibiza Trivia
-
October: In the seventh century BC, the Phoenicians - who discovered Ibiza - introduced a grape called Monestral to the island. The same grape variety produces some of the best wines on the island today.
-
September: The ensaimada is the breakfast of choice on the Balearic Islands. Traditionally, the spiral pastry is simply made with dough and dusted with icing sugar, but it may also be filled with pumpkin jam, custard cream or chocolate. The name comes from saim, which means lard, one of the ingredients - vegetarians should check, as olive oil may be substituted.
-
August: Ibiza boasts an average of 300 sunny days per year and an average temperature of 22°C. It's the good life!
